Last week New City Art Studio invited our Ohana homes to gather for pizza, music and painting. Art supplies were donated for 35 of our foster youth and special needs adults and they were given the freedom to express their creativity. Pictures cannot capture the amount of fun that was had or the mess that was made!
It is important for youth who have endured trauma to develop healthy coping skills and ways to express their emotions. Creating art is a great way for youth to express their stories while doing something that they enjoy. After all of their artwork was complete, each of them had the option to submit their art to be shown at an art exhibition hosted by New City Art Studio.
If you would like to check out their art, stop by New City Art Studio this Friday, March 4th from 7pm-9m at 1300 N Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ.
