National Foster Care Awareness Month

May 7, 2025

May is National Foster Care Awareness Month, but at Ohana this isn’t something we lean into for just a few weeks. It’s what we have the privilege of doing all year long.

Our heart is simple: to make sure every foster youth feels seen, valued, and loved. We do that by showing up in real, tangible ways. It means celebrating birthdays and milestones, hosting camps and family vacations, and creating job training and mentorship opportunities for young adults as they transition out of foster care.

We believe it takes a community, and that’s why we partner with local businesses, churches, and organizations to help make sure foster youth have what they need to feel supported, encouraged, and cared for. From building workforce development programs to creating spaces where youth feel safe and seen, everything we do is about giving them back the moments and opportunities every kid and young adult deserves.

This month, we’re continuing the work and sharing a closer look at the impact you help make possible.
