Each year, over 1,000 youth age out of foster care in Arizona. Many are left to navigate adulthood on their own without consistent support.
This is the story of Juan, a young adult in our Extended Foster Care Program. His journey hasn’t been easy, but he has continued to move forward and build a future for himself.
Like many others aging out of care, Juan stepped into adulthood without a strong support system. He had to figure things out on his own. Through Ohana, he was connected with a Success Coach who walked alongside him and showed up consistently with support and belief in who he can become.
Having someone in your corner changes things. It’s what helped Juan keep moving forward.
Juan’s story is still being written, but it shows what can happen when someone is given the support they need.
