Tune In: Ohana's Latest Podcast Feature

May 29, 2025

We’re honored to be featured on a recent episode of the Move the Needle Podcast, a local series spotlighting people and organizations making a real difference in Arizona and beyond. Hosted by Mathew Blades and Steve Petruzzella, the podcast celebrates those working to create meaningful, lasting change in their communities.

In this episode, the conversation dives into the heart of Friends of Ohana’s mission: building opportunities, resources, and a strong support system for young adults aging-out of foster care. Every year, over 1,000 youth in Arizona leave the foster care system without the family support, resources, and connections most of us take for granted. Our work focuses on creating those opportunities — through employment, mentorship, safe housing, life skills training, and experiences that restore a sense of belonging and hope.

The episode unpacks why this work matters, the challenges these young people face, and how a community coming together can move the needle in powerful ways. It’s a testament to the power of showing up, standing together, and choosing to make a difference.

We invite you to tune in, hear the stories that inspire us, and learn how this incredible community continues to stand alongside foster youth who deserve to be seen, supported, and empowered.

Thank you to Move the Needle for creating space for these important conversations, and to our Ohana family for continuing to fuel this mission with your heart and support.
